Claremore - Linda Sue Eagleton

Services to remember and celebrate the life of Linda Sue Eagleton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Claremore First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, where Linda will be laid to rest beside her beloved son, Kyle. Visitation will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel at Claremore First Baptist Church. Linda passed away peacefully at her home in Claremore on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 85.

Linda was born in Drumright, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1940, to Noble and Irene (Hyde) Wilson. After spending her early childhood years in the oil towns of Oklahoma and Illinois, her family settled in Claremore, where she graduated from Claremore High School, Class of 1958. During her school days, Linda was a cheerleader and was voted "Best All Around" along with her classmate Bob Blackburn. Linda made many lifelong friendships with her classmates.

Linda was a devoted mother to Mendy and Kyle and also welcomed four bonus children into her heart and home (Don, Vickie, Phillip and Pamela). She excelled in her role as a mother and grandmother and took pride in supporting and caring for her family.

Linda enjoyed a long and respected career as a Legal Assistant, specializing in guardianships and probates. For the last 29 years, she worked at Taylor, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey & Russell Law Firm in Claremore, where she continued to work until just weeks before her 85th birthday. Many local attorneys often said that Linda was the one who trained them in probate law — an acknowledgment she cherished.

With one of the busiest social calendars imaginable, Linda loved the theater, dinners and lunches with friends, line dancing, and popcorn at the movies. She was deeply involved in her community, giving her time to the Friends of J.M. Davis Board, the Rogers County Historical Society, the Claremore Museum of History, and any activity the Claremore High School Class of 1958 was involved in.

When free time did present itself, Linda loved to travel and fish. Introduced to trout fishing by her son Kyle, she looked forward to trips on the Lower Illinois River and the White River in Arkansas. Her travels also took her to the Northeast to see the fall foliage, on a European river cruise down the Rhine, to Colorado, and anywhere a beautiful waterfall could be found. One especially meaningful trip this summer took her across Europe with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. She also enjoyed a train excursion across Canada, where Banff National Park was a highlight, and she loved beach destinations — especially Hawaii. Linda often teased her family that she already had a beach house picked out in Beaufort, South Carolina.

A woman who touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy, Linda is survived by her children, Mendy Stone and husband Gary, Don Eagleton, Phillip Eagleton and wife Anne, and Pamela Beazer; grandchildren, Amanda Stone and husband Ross Wiersma, Brett Stone and wife Lindsay, Erin Eagleton, Clinton Jameson, and Nicole Jameson; great-grandchildren, Brylee Stone, Thea Wiersma, Huck Wiersma, and Brecken Stone; her sister, Sherry Krawietz, and Darlene Passmore-Armstrong whom she would always introduce as her "daughter from another mother".

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kyle; daughter, Vickie Jameson; brothers, Don Earl Wilson and Joe Wilson; brother-in-law, Al Krawietz; and sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson.
