Verdigris - Deloris passed away on May 31, 2024 at the age of 86. She was a longtime member of Blue Starr Church of Christ in Claremore. She resided in Verdigris, OK for the past 32 years. She was a homemaker most of her adult life, raising 4 children in the small community of Mingo, where she resided for 31 years. She also worked as a teachers' aide at Mingo School, a job she truly enjoyed. Deloris loved meeting people, and if you met her, you instantly became her friend. Everyone loved her and she loved them. She loved spending time with family and friends and taking many trips to Branson, always to see Presley's Music Show, among others. One of her favorite things to do was go going out to eat, after her weekly beauty shop appointment.
Deloris is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Hancock; son Mike and his wife Candis; three daughters, Susie Simms and her husband Fred, Lesa Stanley and her husband Rex, and Tammy Hord; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Deloris was preceded in death by her Dad, Euel Gaither; her mother, Lillian Watson; her step-dad Marion Watson; 2 brothers, Raymond Gaither and Ronnie Gaither; and one son, Jimmy Dwain Hancock.
We want to thank everyone who had the opportunity to meet this sweet, precious lady. The interaction she had with you lit up her world.
Viewing will be at Rice Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 5th, between 5pm and 7pm. Memorial service will be Thursday, June 6th at 10am at Blue Starr Church of Christ in Claremore.
