Myrna Beth Young, a beloved mother, grandmother, and respected educator, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023, in Claremore, OK. Born on September 4, 1938, in Kiowa, KS, to Charles and Lucille Hildebrand, Myrna was a beacon of kindness and love to all who knew her.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Young, her brother, David Hildebrand, and her parents, Lucille and Charles Hildebrand. She is survived by her two sons, Michael D. Young and Scott S. Young. Michael and his wife, Kathie, blessed Beth with a grandson, Ricky. Scott and his wife, Pamela, expanded the joy of her life with their children Raya, and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and her husband, Panha Sethy, further enriched Myrna's life.

Beth was a lifelong learner and educator. She held a master's degree in education and dedicated over 35 years of her life to teaching English at Claremore High School. Her passion for education was only matched by her love for music and performing arts. She was a featured soloist for the First Christian Church of Claremore and a performed with the Claremore Gridiron. Through these roles, she touched countless lives, inspiring many with her dedication, talent, and spirit.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Beth had a zest for life that was infectious. She loved to travel and had a particular fondness for Greece, Russia, and England. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like working in her garden and creating a beautiful home. She was an avid tennis player and an excellent bridge player. Despite her many interests, her greatest joy was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was always their biggest cheerleader.

Beth was known for her elegance and style. She believed in staying elegant and fashionable, and her impeccable taste was admired by all. Her friends and family will remember her as a loving, friendly, and kind woman who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She was a pillar of her community, a devoted friend, and a loving family woman.

Beth's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her infectious laughter, and her steadfast dedication to her family and community. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, both as an educator and as a friend. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and admiration. A celebration of life will be held in Claremore early next year.
