Our dearly beloved, Nancy Marie Massey of Claremore, passed away on Saturday, November 25th, 2023. She was born in Trenton, Michigan, on August 16, 1963, to John and Margaret Murawski. Nancy was the oldest of three siblings, brother Dave and sister Beth. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1980, and the following year, she graduated from Claremore High School. After graduating, she went on to study business at Claremore College, now known as RSU.
In 1985, she married Ricky Lynn Massey, and in the following years, she had two daughters, Lauren, and Meagan, born in 1988 and 1989. In the years that followed, she separated from Rick and became the sole provider for their children. She overcame many obstacles and took great pride in raising her daughters to be strong independent women. From the years 2006 to 2016, she became a grandmother of three boys Alex, Jayden, and Mason. Being a grandmother became a new journey that she cherished and embraced to the fullest. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews Kris, Nick, Sarah, CJ, Makenzie, Savanah, and Bella as well.
Nancy enjoyed spending time outdoors, seeing live music, cooking, and gardening amongst various other interests. Her work ethic was very strong throughout her life and she devoted many years to her recent role at Crete Carrier. That job brought her many genuine relationships that she cherished deeply. Nancy met her best friend Teresa Robison in 1997 and they enjoyed many adventures together over the years. She spent a lot of time taking care of other people, while putting herself last. Nancy loved get togethers of any kind, had a great sense of humor, and had a witty personality that elevated the mood in any conversation. This year she purchased her dream home that she decorated specifically to her preference. Sadly, she only got to enjoy a few gatherings in her new place which finally felt like home before her passing.
Her generosity, fun loving spirit, and warm heart left a positive imprint on the lives of everyone she met and will be deeply missed. Nancy is proceeded in death by her parents John and Margaret Murawski.
She is survived by brother Dave Murawski and wife Janis, sister Beth Reynolds and husband Curtis, daughter Lauren Massey, daughter Meagan Massey and husband Jaime; nieces and nephews Kris, Nick, Sarah, CJ, Makenzie, Savanah, and Bella; grandchildren Alex, Jayden, and Mason; fur babies Bear Bear aka "Munty Sue," Sadie aka "Fat Cat," and Cheween too.
