Rodney Lee Woodruff Obituary

A memorial service to celebrate and honor the life of Rodney Lee Woodruff will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church in Claremore, OK. On Sunday, October 1, 2023, Rodney Lee Woodruff, 65, of Chehalis, WA departed to be at home eternally with his Lord. He was surrounded by his beloved sons, Jonathan, and Timothy. Rodney experienced constant love, prayers, and comfort by those dear to him, both far and near. He lived and aspired to always be ready to share the great love he had found in his Lord Jesus Christ.

Born in Tulsa, OK to Robert and Marlyn Woodruff on September 24, 1958. In November of 1963, his family relocated to Chelsea, OK on a farm near Spencer Creek. It was here he first experienced the great wild yonder with the nearby lake, creek, and the beautiful woods. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and later became intrigued with motorcycles and cars. He attended Chelsea Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1976. Following a trip to the Pacific Northwest, Rodney decided to make that area home. It was there he met and married the mother of his children; Jolene McBroom. Their union was gifted with two sons Jonathan and Timothy. Rodney enjoyed and cherished each moment of his life spent with his sons. He was so proud of the uniqueness reflected in their individual talents. Rodney provided for his family working as a pipe fitter. He had an incredible work ethic that was instilled in him by his Mom and Dad. He excelled in his trade and developed many friendships that lasted his entire life.

In his younger days Rodney loved riding his motorcycle; his fearlessness apparent in the stunts he performed. He loved his family. He and his older brother Woody enjoyed hunting together, with the game they caught often arriving upon the supper table, prepared by Mom. He was a teaser, being a loving mischievous older brother with younger sister Rhonda. He would take nature walks with his younger siblings Becky and Randy. In his late teen years, he made a life changing decision giving his life to Christ. He would witness to family, friends, and many others he met along the way of this momentous change in his life. His desire was that they too, could experience the love of God.

All that knew and loved him, Rodney's memory will be treasured and a part of the legacy he leaves behind. Rodney is survived by his sons Jonathan and Timothy Woodruff, his parents Robert and Marlyn Woodruff, brothers Dr. Robert (Woody)Woodruff and wife Betty, Randy Woodruff and wife Shani, sisters, Rhonda Legge and Rebekah Bellomo and husband Andrew. Rodney leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and fellow sojourners.

I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Romans 8:18.
