Claremore - A funeral ceremony honoring and remembering the life of Roxanne Vickrey was held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The service was at the First Baptist Church in Claremore. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family received visitors from 5-7 PM Tuesday at MMS-Payne Funeral Home.

Roxanne passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 surrounded by her 3 children, at the age of 70.

Roxanne Vickrey, daughter of William and Helen (Kincade) Mersch, was born on November 19, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a child, she lived in Chelsea before moving to Claremore around the age of seven. She attended Justus schools and later Claremore High School, where she graduated in 1973 as valedictorian—an early reflection of her determination and work ethic.

On June 22, 1973, Roxanne married the love of her life, Mike Vickrey. From that day forward, the two built a life rooted in devotion to each other, family, and hard work. In that same year, they began what would become a lifelong shared passion with the founding of the Bar V6 Ranch. What started alongside their marriage grew into a fully operational cattle ranch that remains active today—just one of many testaments to their partnership and perseverance.

In the early years of their marriage, Roxanne worked for Jack Kissee Ford. In 1976, she and Mike opened Vickrey Heat and Air, a family business that continues to thrive 50 years later. Together, they built not only successful businesses, but a life defined by teamwork, resilience, and shared dreams.

Roxanne and Mike treasured their time together. Sunday afternoons often found them on long drives, simply enjoying each other's company and the quiet moments those drives provided. Every anniversary was devoted to one another, a time they intentionally set aside to celebrate their marriage and the life they had built side by side.

Roxanne was known as a kind, hardworking woman who always put her family first. She loved traveling with Mike, especially attending the National Finals Rodeo whenever possible, along with the many business trips they shared across the country. She found joy in collecting decorative plates from her travels and enjoyed working the occasional jigsaw puzzle.

Roxanne had a wonderful sense of humor and was well known for her memorable sayings. Instead of saying goodbye, she often ended conversations with, "I'll see you in the funnies." When talking about the cost of things, she would say, "Being poor isn't a disgrace—it's just unhandy." These phrases perfectly reflected her wit, practicality, and warmth.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Mersch; her beloved husband, Mike Vickrey; and her brother, Bill Mersch.

Roxanne is survived by her mother, Helen Mersch; her sons, Jason Vickrey and wife Jennifer, and Travis Vickrey and wife Shea; her daughter, Kristin Potts and husband T.J.; her grandchildren, Sayge Gerber and husband Kyle, Jacee, Brenlyn, Brylee, Maddox, Riggins, Britten, Emma, Michael, and Kayleigh; her aunt Mary Fry; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Elliott; her nephew, Rodney Robinson and wife Carrie; and her niece, Robyn Dennis and husband Tony.
