Claremore - Sherry Roberta Boyd was born on October 9, 1937, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Sam Swimm Breeden and Vera Mae (Wilson) Breeden. She passed from this life on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her home in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years. Sherry was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness, wisdom, and great spiritual beliefs.

Sherry attended Claremore High School graduating with the class of 1955. She met Carl Boyd while in high school and they were married in 1956. After raising her boys, she went back to school and received her RN nursing license from Hillcrest School of Nursing, graduating in 1976. Her first nursing position was at Saint Francis working in the neonatal unit. After her time at Saint Francis, she took a position at the Claremore Indian Hospital where she retired in 1999 as Head nurse over the Medical/Surgical Unit.

Sherry was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church Oologah, where she served as the church organist and taught Sunday School. She was also proud to volunteer with Blue Star Mothers of Rogers County.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Carl Boyd; sons Trent Boyd, Todd Boyd and wife Alexandra; granddaughter Jennifer Ridge; and great-grandson Chase Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Vera, and her brother, Charles Breeden.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Russ Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore.
