Steve Housel was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 22, 1949. His parents were Barron and Gerry Housel. He has two brothers, David Housel of Houston, Texas, and Barron Housel III of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Steve wore many professional hats during his life, including radio host, restaurant owner (Tulsa favorite, Middle Path Cafe) and educator. He committed the last thirteen years of his career to education, serving as professor of Political Science at Rogers State University, where he enjoyed dispersing knowledge about the importance of public administration to his students.
He married Mary Alice Hilburn in 1978. They had three children: Chris Kline, Ashton and Heath, each of whom survive Steve in his passing. Steve enjoyed current affairs, reading, writing and the Oklahoma Sooners. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
