Claremore - Thomas Joseph Hoffman, known affectionately as Tom to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on July 2, 1944, in Milbank, South Dakota, Tom's life was a testament to his loving nature, his remarkable handiness, and his wise counsel, which touched the lives of many.
Tom's journey began as the cherished son of Victor and Frances Hoffman. His formative years in LaBolt, South Dakota were filled with the joys of childhood and the values of hard work and family, which he carried throughout his life. Tom's siblings, Mike and Mary Hoffman, Peggy and Ron Dokken, Susie and Milt Madison, and sister-in-law Bette Ann Wade, shared in the tapestry of his life's adventures and will hold his memory dear.
The love of Tom's life, Marilyn Hoffman, preceded him in death, as did his beloved son Kris Hoffman, his parents, and his son-in-law John LeFay III. His legacy continues through his devoted children, Shawn Hoffman and Tracy French, Patrick and Kristy Hoffman, and Jolene Hoffman LeFay. Tom was a proud grandfather to Shawnna and Branden Lasley, Scott and Deanna Hoffman, Matthew and Victoria Hoffman, Frances "Sierra" and Jose Martinez, Kourtney Hoffman, Garret Hoffman and Alexus Morris, Kaedence, Emily, and Shelby LeFay, Stormy and Gracie Hoffman, Tyler and Charla Ogden, Kacee and Brett Wilson. His great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Remington Lasley, Paige "Boot" Ogden, Wyatt, McCoy, and Sutton Wilson, will miss their cherished times with him.
Tom was a pillar of the community, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and mechanical prowess. From 1992 to 2006, he owned and operated Tom's Tire and Brake, followed by Pat's Auto Care, where he continued to share his expertise as a mechanic. His ability to fix anything, from lawnmowers to complex car issues, was legendary.
Beyond his work, Tom had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. He was an exceptional cook, famous for his biscuits and gravy, and he took great joy in preparing meals for his family. His love extended to his grandchildren, whom he supported in all their activities, always there to cheer them on or offer a helping hand.
Tom's presence was a comfort to those around him. He was the go-to person for advice, a listening ear, and a helping hand. His wisdom and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him, including Mindy, his beloved dog, who was a constant companion.
He will be remembered as a loving father, a doting grandfather, a caring brother, and a true friend. Rest in peace, Tom; your legacy will continue to inspire us all.
