Weldene Weber Obituary

Claremore - Funeral services for Weldene Weber, 94, of Claremore, formerly of Hooker, Oklahoma, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Hooker, with Pastor Brandon Pendleton and Pastor Mike McReynolds to officiate. Burial will follow in Hooker Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. There will be a viewing at the church from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm prior to the start of the service.


Weldene was born March 18, 1930, in Tyrone, Oklahoma, the third of four girls, to Weldon and Zolene (Sapp) Wadley, and passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 in Claremore, Oklahoma, when God called her home.


She graduated from Tyrone High School in 1948, and then married Robert Charles "BG" Burdge in July, 1948. They resided in Hooker, Oklahoma, where they raised their daughter, Andi. Weldene attended and was involved in many church activities at the First Baptist Church; she was a member of the choir and Sunday school secretary for over 50 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star in Hooker, and was one of the 'Gray Ladies' at Dunaway Manor Nursing Home. She was a postal clerk at the post office in Hooker for 29 years. She and BG were married for almost 50 years until his death in April, 1998. She married Eugene Weber in August, 1999. They enjoyed traveling, going to Germany, Mexico, and many 101st Airborne Reunions and their family reunions. She and Gene were married almost 18 years until his death in March, 2017. In 2018, Weldene moved to Claremore, Oklahoma, to live with her daughter, and they enjoyed each other's company for the last five years. She became involved in the WOW Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church in Claremore, where she made many new friends.


She is preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, William and Nellie and Nany Burdge; and husbands, BG Burdge and Gene Weber; two sisters, Juana DuBois and husband Loren, and Ramona Duer and husband Dale. Also preceding her in death were her brothers- and sisters-in-law Maude (Burdge) and Chauncey Depuy, George and Nell and Bettie Burdge, Albert "Abie" and Iva Burdge, Lawrence "Jiggs" and Lucille Burdge, Nellie (Burdge) and Calvin James "Ham" Hammack, Wilbur Vincent "Bud" Osborn and Maxine Osborn. She had also mourned the loss of many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


She is survived by her daughter, Andi Brankel, of the home. Two granddaughters, Erica "Ricki" Hougland and husband Jason of Claremore; Leslie Pendleton and husband Brandon, of Ponca City as well as six great-grandsons, Blake, Garrett, and Dakota Hougland, and DJ, Steven, and Timothy Pendleton also survive her, and sister, Leah Fowler, and husband Bob. Gene's daughters Darlynn Suto, Jeanine Fishback, and Lori Slaughter and their families survive Weldene. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Memorial contributions in Weldene's name may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Special Olympics with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
