Born November 20th, 1924 in Claremore, Bill was the son of Charles and Cora Mae (Hilton) Francis. Bill grew up in the Sequoyah area where he attended school.
Bill entered the U.S. Army at the age of eighteen and honorably served during World War II. He worked building roads in both Burma and China during the war. He married Wilma Lewis September 18, 1947 in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
Following the war, Bill worked for many years at Douglas and eventually Love Heating and Air. He continued working in the heat and air business, establishing and operating Francis Heat and Air until his retirement at the age of 85.
Bill was known to be a wonderful family man. He was a "people person" and always had a joke or a story to tell. You would never hear the same one twice. He loved fishing, square dancing, and he loved to cook. Bill and his wife "Nana" loved to travel together visiting family and attending shows in Branson. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Bill will be dearly missed by many friends and family who loved him.
