Funeral services for Wilma Joyce Martin will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00pm at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 1:00pm-7:00pm with family receiving friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Joyce passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 98.

Joyce was born on February 28, 1926, in Floydata, TX to Ratie Azalee (Burcham) and Edgar Lewallen.

After Joyce retired from her hairdressing salon, she was not content with sitting. Her volunteerism included 17 years at Hillcrest Claremore Auxiliary. She was a 50-year member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ Claremore, its Women's Ministry and Monday meal for the community. She also volunteered at the Adult Day Care Center and was a Knitting Club Member. Joyce enjoyed fishing, boating, bird watching, gardening and loved to cook.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Edgar English, two brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Self and husband Louie and Nancy Striplin-Scott; son, George Patrick Striplin and wife Cece; grandchildren, Janelle Stafford, Steven and Brian Shrum, Michael, Scott, Rhonda and Gary English, Ronnie English, Joyce English, Shane Tinker, Max Striplin and six great-grandchildren.
